Prof. Uwem Udok began his excellent academic journey in 1987, where he obtained his Advanced Level Certificate from the School of Arts and Science, Uyo. His insatiable quest for more knowledge, took him out of Uyo, to the Prestigious University of Nigeria, Nsukka, Enugu State, where he obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LL. B) Honoursin 1994. He saw the need to push further, hence, he proceeded to the renowned University of Lagos, where he obtained his Master of Laws Degree (LL.M) having graduated as the (Third Best Graduating Student) in 2001.

Furthermore, the passion for the academia and his long cherished desire to contribute his quota to humanity and law led him to the far northern part of Nigeria, University of Jos, Plateau State, where he painstakingly worked and obtained his Doctor of Philosophy ( Ph.D) where he crowned his academic pursuits and completed in 2012.

Prof. Uwem Udok, occupied several administrative positions within the Faculty of Law, University of Uyo. He demonstrated his exceptional administrative savvy as Faculty Examination Officer, Pioneer Co-ordinator, Clinical Legal Education, Co-ordinator, Postgraduate Programme, Faculty of Law, Acting Head of Department of Private Law, Faculty of Law, and also as the Immediate Past Vice Dean, Faculty of Law, University of Uyo in 2020. During these periods, he did exceptionally well and was very accommodating to students.

Prof, Uwem Udok, is a Member of several administrative and professional bodies in Nigeria. He has been a Member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) since 1995, he is also a Member of Alumni Association of University of Nigeria, Nsukka, University of Lagos, and University of Jos. As an exceptional scholar, with penchant for excellence, he has written over (45) forty- five journal articles and one (1) textbook to his credit.
